Having been a hairdresser for over 25 years, I began doing hair extensions in 1989. The method of hair extensions I do is intended only for the back and sides of the head to create a longer, thicker or fuller head of hair. This method is the safest and most natural type of hair extensions available for women today.

However, only limiting myself to hair extensions created a dilemma for me.  Women were coming to me who were losing their hair on top, or their hair was thinning severely due to Alopecia (female pattern baldness) and I could not service them. Unable to refer these women to another salon that could meet my standards, even though many existed for men, I began to research the industry to find a solution. I discovered the majority of hairpieces and hair goods available were being manufactured in China or Korea and required a waiting period of 6 to 8 weeks to obtain. Furthermore, eight weeks later, when the hairpiece arrived, the fit, color and texture (curl pattern) did not match the client's own hair. Sending it back incurred another waiting period of 8 to 10 weeks, creating more impatience and aggravation for my client and me.

At that point I knew there must be a way to circumvent this process. I decided I could create my own hairpieces. My primary objective was to have total control over the finished product. Simply purchasing materials available in the marketplace gave me the flexibility to blend colors and textures to match the client's hair exactly. Most importantly, it could be made in a few days. After several prototypes and numerous alterations, I created a hairpiece that fit perfectly and matched my client's hair beautifully. In fact, she wore that hairpiece 24 hours a day for over 3 years!

There are currently over 25 million women in this country experiencing various degrees of hair loss. Hair loss affects women of all ages as is evident by my clientele, which range in age from 23 to over 60 years old. After years of research, I have come to realize how embarrassing and humiliating this condition is for women as there are no balding female role models in our society and it is not socially acceptable. Over the years, I have derived personal and professional satisfactions from giving women back their pride, dignity and self-confidence. Along with other forms of cosmetic enhancement, hair replacement in women is a much-guarded secret.

In 1994, I opened a salon in the south Florida area, between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, catering exclusively to women. In a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, my clients are afforded complete privacy as well as all related hairdressing services. Currently I work closely with dermatologists, plastic surgeons, modeling agencies, and other hair salons on a referral basis.
